MARICOPA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgency12-17-23 UPDATE on vehicle description: 2015 to 2019 GMC Sierra heavy duty (2500 or 3500), black handles, steel rims, tow mirrors, 4 doors with tinted windows and front bumper damage. MCSO Detectives are looking for the public’s help reference a fatal hit and run collision that occurred December 10, 2023, at approximately 12:54pm on Cave Creek Road at Pima Road in Carefree, Az. A possible white, 4-door, 2015-2019 Chevrolet Silverado, 2500HD or 3500HD, OR 2015-2019 GMC Sierra collided with a motorcycle and fled the scene. Evidence found suggests the vehicle should have damage to the front end, possibly the bumper, grill, hood, and windshield. MARICOPA COUNTY2+ weeks agoAgencyThe Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County was made aware that fraudulent activity is still occurring where scammers call members of the community and threaten them with arrest for failing to appear for jury service. The scammers direct people to pay fines and fees to avoid arrest and jail time. The Court does not fine people by phone for not appearing for jury duty. The Court issues failure to appear notices, and potential jurors are asked to reschedule jury service for a later date. If targeted by a jury scam, write down the phone number of the caller and then notify your local law enforcement agency. Do not give the caller any personal information or agree to provide any payment. Contact your local law enforcement agency if you believe you have fallen victim to this type of fraud. On Sunday, December 31st, 2023, at approximately 11:38pm, a black, 2015-2023 Dodge Challenger traveling westbound on McDowell Road collided with a pedestrian between 83rd Avenue and 86th Drive in Phoenix, Arizona and fled the scene. Evidence found suggests the vehicle should have damage to the front end, primarily the right side, possibly the front bumper, grill, under carriage, hood, and windshield. SURPRISE POLICE DEPARTMENT2+ weeks agoAgencyOn March 9, 2024, at around 10:30 pm, Officers from the Surprise Police Department responded to the area of 163rd Avenue and Pat Tillman Blvd reference multiple calls of shots fired. Minutes later, staff from a local hospital reported a patient arrived with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The injured party was not willing to cooperate with investigators but did confirm the assault occurred in the business area of 163rd and Pat Tillman Blvd. Officers and detectives responded to the business area and located several items of evidence. Early in the investigation, it became apparent the injured party was specifically targeted by the shooter and this was not a random act. On March 12, 2024, detectives were able to develop probable cause to arrest the shooter, thirty-eight year old Robert Proctor, Jr. Mr. Proctor was booked into jail on the following charges; aggravated assault with a firearm and misconduct involving weapons We know police activity in the area may have worried some members of our community. Rest assured, if Surprise PD believes there is a threat to the surrounding area, we will not hesitate to notify our community.
