Homemade Whole Wheat Waffles Recipe (1)

I’ve been trying to use whole wheat flour more often, but my family doesn’t seem to like it as much as I do.

I thought if I could hide it in waffles that they might not mind. These waffles were so delicious and my entire family gobbled them up.

Could I make this recipe using white all-purpose flour?

You could definitely make this same recipe, using white all purpose flower.

However, the whole wheat waffles have more taste, as well as nutritional value to them. We recommend trying the whole wheat if you never have before.

I bet your kids won’t even be able to tell the difference, once they put on all their favorite waffle toppings.

What are the best toppings to put on waffles?

I am a toppings girl, all the way. It’s not breakfast or any dish, if it doesn’t have toppings. I have a lot of favorite waffle toppings, so here are a few of the best:

-Cinnamon and Sugar. I love spreading a little butter on my waffles, then sprinkling it with cinnamon and sugar. You can also spread a little frosting glaze over it as well.

-Fruit and Whipped Cream. This is a waffle classic. It is also super easy to add to any waffle dish.

-Nutella and Strawberries. Have you ever dipped a strawberry in Nutella? Well prepare to have your life changed. It is delicious, but add it to waffles, and it becomes a dream come true.

-Strawberries, Bananas and Powdered Sugar. This is also a waffle classic, because it is simple, inexpensive, and tastes amazing. All you need is some syrup, and breakfast is served.

What do I serve with waffles?

If you are looking for side dishes to serve with this recipe, we have a few ideas for you, that you are going to love.
